I borrowed my mates TestBook the other day and was running through a few checks and I found that when in high range TB said that its in low and vice versa.
As I understand it this will make the throttle pedal response different and could effect the HDC operation????
Tried searching the web but got nowhere, anyone come accross this before?

Yes,back in 2003 I had a DII in which was gutless with poor throttle response.I cant remember if the then current software disc was reading the car backwards etc. What I can remember is that the owner was very pleased when he got it back after I altered the wiring.No idea what I did,he never towed or went off road so he just wanted on road performance.
My suggestion to you is to fiddle around and see if it makes any difference.

presumably it is actually in low when tb says high ,switch on front of transfer box hi/low selector housing is pressed in by selector shaft when box is put in low ,is switch correct

It's not a wiring problem it's a well-known software problem within the BCU/ECU combo. It doesn't affect the fuel maps.

Well that early car was the only one that I saw like it - then again it was in 03.
But made a big difference when I swopped the switch state,like I said I cant remember what I did,it was 9 years ago.Worth a check over if it is flat in performance.
(Back then LR were alot different in the way thay used electronics,software upgrades were quite common for Testbook - only in the way they read the cars,not in constant software upgrades on the actual cars like they are now on SDD)
