Hi my mate has a freelander that will not go into reverse gear,so he has started to remove the gear box but he cant get the top bolt out of the other wee box thats on the side of the main gear box,any pointers would help,sorry lm a VW man and not clued up on landrover,cheers jack

We need to know what year, engine and if it's auto or manual. If it's auto and won't go into reverse, did you remove the nut at the rear of the auto box which if removed causes loss of reverse gear? The machanisum inside falls off if this nut is removed.

Hi its a 54 plate,2 litre diesel and manual.

Hi my mate said he can get reverse gear sometimes.

slave or master cylinder ??

id try those before takin box out !!
