Found this site a few days ago, started to read some of the posts, found them very interesting and joined. I've had 3 Land Rovers since 1973, the first was a 1956 86" petrol soft top, the second was a 1976 LWB diesel ex electricity board with hugely ridiculous size wheels, then I bought a 1985/6? limited edition Range Rover in 1988. Now I'm looking for a Discovery, not sure which model yet so long as its a manual and it's a diesel, and its not too old.

Hi there and welcome to the 'Zone :welcome2:

My advice would be to get the latest 300Tdi that you can afford.

Thanks for the welcome:) Looked at a few Discovery's, how do you know if it's a 300Tdi as most that are advertised usually say that its a GS, E, etc? Budget around £7k so will be a bit limited on what I can afford.

The front (head lights mainly) will looks like this

The engine will looks like this

And in the manuals reverse will be towards the driver and back.

I am sure that if I Google'd a bit more I could find you a VIN range as well :D

However, I'd say that a £7k budget is more than enough, I might even be tempted into a post-2001 TD5 Discovery 2 with that budget :)
