Hi, I have just bought a 2000 W Reg Freelander 1.8 Millennium Edition with what I can only say as, every extra I could imagine for a car that age.
It is a 1.8 Petrol, and before anyone says 'Watch Out For The Head Gasket' I have bought it as blown head gasket already.
I have been trying to get my friend to sell it to me for over 3 years and finally got my hands on it. At the moment I am driving a 2004 Mondeo TDCi Estate, while trying to find someone to fit a new head gasket for me.
The other issue's it has is a leaking not working sunroof, and the remote locking sometimes plays up to the extent that you have to press the unlock button on the remote up to 3 times to get all the doors unlocked.
It has done 85k Miles, My friend has had it for about 4 and a half years and every time something has gone wrong it has been fixed, whatever the cost.
But now when it went for its MOT is failed on Emissions and the Head Gasket, So I am assuming that the 2 would be related.
The car drinks water with no apparent leaks, there are signs of the oil and water mixing, but the car has not over heated, and is now off the road and then sold to me lol. I am bringing it home at some point next week. Then once my Mondeo is sold I will pay for the head gasket to be replaced.
I know that the head gasket has never been done before on this car.
