:welcome2:Well i slightly knew about P38 problems but 30 miles into first drive- steam from expansion tank...refilled , bought a new pressure cap all ok so far, looks like seal on old cap had perished HOPEFULLY NOT LINERS! Car has had head gaskets done. Usual book icon with ! appearing on air con display panel...sod it-- still blows hot air, and if i'm hot i'll open windows!
Has anybody experienced "woolly" suspension..found if i switch on the "inhibit" switch when in motorway mode helps a bit. Main prob is poor performance...put foot down engine dies as if too much air is entering and gearbox "stutters" . Are there vacuum pipes from engine to box or is it all controlled by ECU. Does anyone know what the extra cable from the throttle linkage that goes to a vacuum unit behind the air compressor box does. All in all a fab comfy car. Any help out there?

They can be a bit picky about their tyres and tyre pressures. Book says 28 front 38 rear but . . . .

Check the ducting from the air meter towards the inlet manifold. can do it with engine running and spray carb cleaner over the pipework,if revs pick up theres an air leak. also check air filter not clogged

thanks ,,have read about tyre pressures being important on p38's. Dont think its the air bags as these are new..probably expecting too much.. my other car is a mitsubishi GTO so not much difference!!!!
