Drove past me local VOSA station today and sitting out side was an L plate 90csw in green wi disco alloys, Very nice i thought looks like mine! till i drove behind it and the back door from the window down was chequer plate both panels either side of the door were chequer plate the rear crossmember the side steps the wing tops the bonnet the sills the door bottoms and last but not least the rear coners were all CHEQUER PLATE, fookin hell i thought thank feck its not mine the blokes would have a field day!!!! :D

I got a bit o' chequer plate, only because a tenner for 2 new rear corners is a fook of a lot cheaper than new panels. Will be painted Arles blue when the respray comes round...

That's how it starts though. won't be long before you've gone over to the enemy and covered every bit of landy in 5bar chequerplate. Just remember whenever you get the urge to fit more. We're only a keyboard away.

Its ok in moderation, I got wing tops, rear corners and sills thats all.
Might do the rear tub but thats not seen so much bein a csw

i can agree with the wing tops and bonnet if you stand on em to get to the front of yer roof rack but the rear corners??????

i'd love an explaination!

ah i get it, then yer dunt just bend the aluminium body panel, yer bend the alminuim chequer plate as well!

Ah did mine, cos the sills and back corners were a bit mangled and cheaper and a lot less hassle than fittin' new panels;) :D

Walked right passed it on saturday so your secrets out!
Ya closet chequer plater
Bugger!!! Ah've bin outed:eek: so was it you who put the scratch on it with yer thumbnail!!! Did ye notice anytrhing else that was diffrunt for a 200tdi?

I could not understand the need for plate on the wings and bonnet untill I bought a defender 130, the ali is about as thick as baco foil compared with my 110 (1985). The chassis story is the same , they seem to last less and less time , manufactured obsolesence ?
