welcome to the land of pifftake and occasional advice:D

I sold my v8 just over a year ago and miss it like mad. (just to clarify to redhand I mean like crazy not as in hat man:D ) I just couldn't afford the fuel bill. I spose I could always offer a straight swap for it.......my missus for the discovery:D :D

Guys, Gals,

Just a thought, but as he has the motor, anyone thought of an lpg conversion, he should be able to afford to run it then. Addmitadly they'll need to find £800+vat to get it fitted, but if he keeps it for a few years, he'll save in the long run, and have a nice motor as well.

Only suggesting as i got mine back yesterday with lpg, never know the difference execpt what comes out the back end

i think the main problems are partly the running (fuel) costs but the £3.5K pa insurance is gonna be the real stinger!

Yep, that will be a killer, but worth phoning around a few specialst brokers and checking the get out options, may even be within the 'cooling off' period built into most policies.

Would seem a shame that a young lad who is obviously into our motors could be put off without at least exploring the options :(

Well, Land Rover is now parked up on the driveway, keys confiscated and in my handbag,,,,,,,he really can't even afford the blooming petrol,,,phew,,,,,,I'm hoping to sell it for him and that may be a possibility at a loss but will forge on and advertise in the Auto Trader as I now have a picture on my computer and may get his money back for him....would also like to say thanks very much to everyone for the advice and support,,,,,you have all been fabulous, thank you.

No,,,,,,,I'm his mum,,,,,,,,,,,but I initially thought it was a nice car too,,,,,,didn't realise the expense and how he had been duped,,,,,apparently the dealer also told him when he asked about the petrol usage,,,,,"you don't notice it",,,,,,,,,they had definately seen him coming!

I would be sending a letter to the local press if I were in your shoes. They love that sort of story and it may force their hand into giving a full refund.

Yes, I agree with what that but to be honest that is a real - no no - as he is soooooo embarassed about it all as he was as proud as punch of the car,,,,,,,,if he could have afforded it he would have even kept it but he has now seen sense and knows he can't possibly keep it,,,,,,

yer should have beat him a bit more when he were a kid. yer wouldnt be in this quandry now if yer had
