My power stering pump has blown fluid out the reservoir and its leaking from the front of the pump can I limp home safely

Is it a 200TDI or a 300?

If it's a 200, remove the belt from the PAS pump and drive with heavy steering.
If it's a 300 with surpentine belt, call the AA.

Thanks bud its a 19j I'm on my mobile so its tricky to use forum thers fluid every were

I agree....whip the belt off so long as tint a 300 injun. Will feel horrible.....bit like mine does ALL the time

Hang on that don't work does it.........Pas pump and water pump on the same belt aren't they?

it only seems to drive pas so it should be ok hopefully thanks again

home now arms like popeye everything ok except landy but i think it only needs new pump or maybe repair old one thanks trewey and blue beastie for the quick response to my cries for help.look at pumps in the morning dont think i can take any big shocks on cost tonight im cracking open the larger nice one gents .

had a good look at the pas today in the daylight moped up all the fluid and found pump leaking from the front did a search on forum most people seem to recomend a new pump and not bother trying to repair old one . phoned the garage were i bought me 110 to see if they had a used one i could buy. and they said dont worry we will send you one in the post . free of charge as id only had it couple months . thought that was real nice .in house warranty the chap said. fair play on a 22 year old landy i thought .

Yes you can limp home.
















The bad point about this is hitting your leg with the jack handle then you can limp home.:mooning:

got the old pump off bit of a struggle to get the last bolt the fluid was black not sure why must have cooked it somehow just waiting for new one to arrive .while i was underneath noticed back shock is leaking aswell more things to do trouble is its me only wheels but its good getting me boy into helping with the landy he is really enjoying getting his hands dirty. shock can wait bit skint at the mo anyway sorry for borring you all with my problems the search on landyzone is great for all those questions about what is best way to go about mendin landy and for that i say thanks

pump turned up fitted it in no time bled steering box good as new now waiting for me shocks to turn up. looking for our next trip out now going to buy a map that shows green lanes in devon so we can go exploring down this way .
