I dont know if my 4wd works and my gearbox is playing up, it all works fine in 2wd, but when I put it into 4wd it makes an awful sort of grinding noise and i dont know what to do, its a series 3 2.25 diesel :( please help:(
 
when you say put into 4wd do you mean by pushing yellow knob down or by pulling red knob back, check front diff play up /down on drive flange also drive flange on front of gearbox
 
I used it a few days before in 4wd, it does it in high and low range after iv turned the wheel hubs, i think i need a new transmission box, any ideas where to get one from????
 
Does anybody know anyone sellin a gearbox for a series 3, my landy is now undrivable, it doesnt move, im also looking in time fora new engine???
 
Oh dear. i was going to be funny and suggest you fit a new engine whilst you are at it, but now i feel that you are a bit missy about things. i share your pain and have been refitting the injection pump on my S3 today and on the great new start up................
the battery failed.

My series3 is past it now, iv paid out in the last 4 months about £500 on battery and alternators, they still dont work, my engine has had it, my gearbox im not even gonna talk about, new exhaust, wheels and tyres, broke down 8times in 3months thats if i can even get it started and yet it looks beautiful, i just wished it would work, im sure these tree huggers and tampering with my landy :(

my sentiments too.
offers of online diagnostics but all we seem to get back is "it doesent work" and "someone sez i need a new transluscentocator diddlebox"

it dont really help us to help you.

its one of them posts i open to see the new replies, and find theres nowt really sensible i can contribute to it.

best of luck sorting it.
