Hi, can anyone help, I have a p38 steering box which takes two hoses, one of the holes is larger than the other does anyone know which is the feed and return. Thanks

Ok thanks, I had it right; but the problem lies elsewhere. It seems what I am getting is high presure on the return hose and the joint that fits onto the steering box keeps leaking and steering not working. I'm not sure how the bottle works the return goes to the bottle I thought through it down to the pump through the pump to the box. As said the return should be low pressure it doesn't seem to be flowing. The pump is putting out pressure, maybe that is at fault and not allowing fluid through.

There should be very little pressure in return line other than a flow back to header tank. There should be a constant flow around the circuit, out of header tank into pump, out of pump into steering box, then back to header tank. It the pipe back to the header tank is blocked, no flow, no power assistance. Steering cannot work without the constant flow. If you are getting a pressurised return it must be blocked somewhere.
