Hi I'm new to this forum and I am hoping someone can help. When driving at abit of speed I can hear trickling water (may not be water, but that what is sounds like) coming from somewhere at the front of the car, it's hard for me to explain in writing what it sounds like. When car is running and not moving you cannot hear this sound as soon as you move off and go into 2nd gear the noise starts. I have ruled out any leaks as all sunroofs have been sealed and she does not smell damp at all.. any suggestions? And also my steering wheel has become heavier then normal but no lights have appeared and all belts are working as they should? Many Thanks :)

Hi Bryony,
Many Discovery owners will be familiar with the trickling noise you're describing, me included. In my case it was simply a bit of air trapped in the cooling system but it could be a number of things. There's a bleed screw for getting rid of air, on top of the top hose (may need doing a few times to get it all out and there are detailed instructions all over the internet).
Good to check your coolant level first though. Are your cabin heaters working? Is your temp gauge normal?
Can't help you with the steering heaviness I'm afraid.

Air trapped in the heater matrix is the reason if the sound u hear if it's coming from behind the dash, a symptom of either the cooling system being refilled incorrectly recently, or if it's just appeared something more serious like a head gasket failing.
With you steering anything that moves or turns and is connected with the steering could be the problem that can cause heaviness, a seized ball joint for instance.

As mentioned the steering getting heavy can be all manner of things, but first of all check your tyre pressures and make sure they are all up to spec.
