in the interests of a quick response, I think there is some sort of wire loop somewhere under the central console that you can pull....... but this is only what I dimly recall from threads on here.

Someone who actually knows might be along soon!

Good luck

Pete

Pete, that was the case in a D4 I owned, but not sure about Rrs. Have tried looking into consul under cup holder but no can see. Also noise seems to be above rear axle area, further back than the D4. Hopefully someone can keep me right. The guy is still stuck.

Found this thread on another forum RRSPORT.CO.UK • View topic - Emergency Park Brake Release?

There are pics in that thread but here is the text.....

First remove the trim cover in front of the switch by inserting the screwdriver in the slot (behind the 'gaiter' round the gear lever) and pressing in to release the trim. Then remove the two EPB switch retaining screws. When the switch is moved out of the way, with the help of a torch you will see the wire loop of the emergency relase cable. I gather it takes a very strong pull to release.

Also.......

"the tools from the car tool kit attach to the emergency release cable loop below the EPB switch. The black rod is the part of the jack handle with the loop on the end, the screwdriver [through the hole] acts as a handle which you pull up on. "
