Looking at buying a disco which engine is best 200 TDI, 300 TDI or TD5. Is it true there are cylinder head problems with TD5
I am still waiting the 4th film in the trilogy????

I would say 200tdi then I am biased, like I said on another thread asking the say f*&^%ing question you can get a 200tdi home on one wire :D

All depends what you want. i've had all 3 and prefer the td5 by a long shot! The driveability for every day use is great, it's got plenty of low down grunt and is great for towing. When i got mine i had read about people having them chipped but i really think they do ok as standard. Saying that Roys 300tdi 90 was pretty **** hot. I'm not seeing like for like because my 300 was an auto and the others have been manual. Go and drive some and see what you think. Don't believe all the horror stories you here though.

All the reacent agro about language
Thought it was about time i made a post about all the recent goings on with language etc. As i'm sure everyone is aware, especialy regulars, at Landyzone we have taken a different approach to bad language than other LR forums. Up until recently i think it's gone pretty well. Since we've had some new moderators things seem to have changed a little, whether that is just a coincidence or not i'm not sure. Either way there has only ever been one guide line, and that has been to keep harsh language off the main forums. (if anyone wishes to know what they are PM, don't use this as an excuse to use them). Something that you don't mind might easily offend others. My feeling now, is that people are beginning to take the **** a little to see how far they can push things. If this is the case i would advise said people to stop pushing because it needs to end. Once complaints start coming in we have to do something about it. So from here on in i ask that EVERYONE keep the harsh stuff from the main forums and keep it in anything goes. That goes for signatures and locations etc. I'm sure the odd thing will pop up here and there, but hey we all make mistakes. This isn't a case of being a killjoy it's just trying to keep the forum friendly for everyone.

Cheers everyone,
Accywingy
or did ah miss read it?;) :D

i have 300tdi love it to bits, if you want something that you can do alot of repairs on yourself 300 tdi but if you dont mind it going to the garage for some repairs td5 as it is very computer biased, drives the best out of the lot but my personal choice would be the 300 tdi as i like to get my hands dirty, the 200 tdi is knocking on abit now and is abit loud compaired with the rest

so you can repair an ECU yourself?? :D

I dont find the 200tdi to loud untill about 75 on the speedo, so about 80-85 :D

The age of the engine is irrelevent you could drive a newer td5 that has not been looked after or a well maintained 200 or 300 make sure you drive a variety of vehicles before making your mind

leekegs:)

Take out the fuel solenoid and give it a push, now you do not even need a battery or wire!
