Does anyone have any ideas as to how I get under the bonnet? I tried this morning and the drivers side cable has snapped!! Has anyone else had this problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

so what Range Rover have you got, year etc, Classic, P38, L322?? Where has the cable snapped?? need more info.

It's a P38, 1998 DSE Auto. It's the drivers side cable that we thought had snapped but it turned out to be the cable that stretched, so after pulling on the cable for some time it released. Thankfully!! We got in touch with dealership and said the wing would have to be taken off seeing as though it was the drivers side it could not be accessed through the front grill, something to do with security. Keeps coming up with bonnet open message now, any ideas? Thanks for your reply.

Could be the latch is not returning fully one one side. Best thing to do first is to replace the cable as it sounds to me that it's on the way out. Check that the catches are free, greased and the springs are not broken on them.

For info.
Bonnet cable assembly Part no. ALR 6989, price £14.51 incl.

HI There is a microswitch located in the drivers side bonnet catch. They can get a bit battered. Not too difficult to get to, 2 10mm bolts holding catch in place and disconnect the connector.
