hello fellow landy lovers, im new to the forum and was hoping that some one would be able to shed some light on a problem iv got with my 98 discovery 300tdi auto, iv had it plugged into a diagnosis machine and it came back with an Injection Begin Sensor Fault, code number 142, any input would be very much appreciated, thank you

Thats a timeing sensor problem i think.New part bout few hundred quid....

Might get lucky at the scrapper but doubt it.Its number 4 i think but not certain.

As BoB says.........................
number 4 , has a built in timing sensor. Could be the injector (the sensor on the injector which is a coil) at fault, the wires/connectors going to the ECU or the ECU itself.
In case you need it, the part number for this #4 injector is ERR3337 and the price for the new part is between 150 and 350 quid so make sure it's faulty before buying a new one.

iv just been informed that it would more than likely be the pump, can anyone tell me if this sounds right, iv been quoted £1500 for a new pump
