Good afternoon All, new here so please bear with me. I have an issue with my Discovery 1 japanese import 1999 V Reg with the 10AS alarm system. I have a Britpart Diagnositcs systemnd it has reprogrammed my Alarm system to a UK spec and now will not start, any ideas please? I have a document with all the readings on but it wont let me upload it (word doc)

The Disco is an EDC

The re programme has certainly caused the issue. Return it to as was then throw the Lynx in the bin.

Im gonna do that but how do I return it to its original state as the lynx thing wont do it?

In what way doesn't the engine start? Does it crank but doesn't fire or is the engine immobilised... indicated by the red illuminated dash LED and so unable to crank, if so we assume you can't remobilise with the fob in the normal way

If I remember correctly, the Japanese spec D1 didn't have an immobiliser only central locking and alarm, so now you have programmed the security ecu to look for function that doesn't exist with the specification of the vehicle.

As aways if you can't restore the ecu back to the original setting, the immobiliser can with a few bits of wire be bypassed.

Sent from my iPad Air on a train.

Hi thanks for coming back. The Disco Cranks but doesnt fireup....there is no light on dash either and the fob has never worked with it.

The Jap ones don't have an alarm as they're illegal in Japan due to 'noise pollution' so I a almost 100% certain it is the immobilizer. It also doesn't have a spider as its an edc.

OK, how do I bypass it, there are some vague instructions about so I havent dared do it :)

Is there anyone that can put the ecu back to its proper state and then let the ECU and Alarm ECU talk again as it sounds like they're not in talking terms lol

Ok 50-50 If was correct on the Japanese security spec as it was many years ago that I had interests in disco alarms.
Anyway if the engine cranks it could be that the engine isn't immobilised although that's not 100% as there two circuits involved, starter and fuel or in your case engine ecu.
Any chance you did something involving the EDC ecu?

I don't do diesels but I understand you will need a switched 12v supply to the pump, it has been stated in the forum in the past so not a secret.

Yes, the whole EDC ECU is given rogue readings, its like I say an EDC yet the diagnostics is sayings 'MEMS/TD5 - Yes', 'Defender Interior lights on - Yes' etc.
Its all gone awol and Im lost.
