HI I have a 2000 Disco 2- and we recently had to replace the battery-alternator and starter- and now it will not start- we have power to lights/fans etc but engine will NOT turn over. We got the EKA code from rover dealer and tried it several times, and nothing, we are desperate. I adore my rover and HATE to have to sell it for parts and start the search for another, any help would be GREATLY appreciated we have called every place we know for help- and as most of you know, not many people in our area know anything about rovers. HELP!:confused:

Might help to know if it's petrol or diesel  and where is "our area"? Area 51? :D

However from what you have said I'd say it was immobilised.

Is the red LED flashing?

I think your saving grace was "HI" although as far as introduction's go........ :p :D

Sorry for the rushed post, but it's been a very long 4 days that my husband and I have been trying to fix this. My Rover is my only means of transportation and I use it for my business as well, so it's a bad situation for it to be down. Yes, I do believe it is immobilized- but the EKA code we have does not work, as we were told by the U.S Land Rover office, that it should dis arm the security and let the engine start. I am in Indiana, and only two towns close to me handle Land Rover's and mine does not start so I cannot get it there, and I really cannot afford to have it towed to a dealer. It is gas, as well. I was hoping maybe someone has had this happen too, and could point me in the right direction?

Ok so you've followed the procedure to the letter?

sooo the alarm has been switched off?

And the red LED is still flashing?

I have to go now.
if you look down the LZ live list or go into LandRover Discovery part of the forum you wll see a thread "Discovery 2 EKA entry" this issue has been discussed.
failing that a search may throw up other info or avenues to look/check.

Good luck

hi , when you say it won't start ,can you get as far as getting in and turning the ignition on lights on dash . with no alarm going off? if so have you tried jumping it with jump leads with the ignition on and +(red)jump lead on your starter motor .just to rule out a blown fuse somewhere . don't even need another car if your jump lead will reach from your own battery + to the starter.
