Does anyone know if the front prop for a 51 Manual TD5 is interchangeable with any other front prop?

to be honest me neither - I'm just a female who can work a PC for the somewhat mechanical menfolk
I think they have having probs trying to find a front prop desperately and wondered if they went to a breakers if one from perhaps a 300TDI or something else would be suitable?

IMO a repair kit which will make it like new is not so expensive that is worth the risk to fit a second hand one from another type which might fit.

Apparently a repair kit is not suitable as the whole lot has gone - UJ & splines (??) so it all needs replacing

A disco 1 prop will not fit, the TD5 uses a "Hookes Joint" (double UJ) because of the angles between the front diff and transfer box...........so you need a TD5 prop, either rebuilt, used or new.
