2002 td5 kept losing power and dying on way home refusing to start back up for a while the starting and drive for a couple miles before doing same again I am not mechanically minded so need help
could be too many things, the most common for that symptom are pump failure, injector seals(especially if you experienced overheating in the near past), crank sensor, fuel starvation ....and so on
how is the sound of the pump when you turn ignition to pos II ?

If you turn the ignition key to pos II and then listen by the offside rear wheelarch you should hear the fuel pump working away - if you don't, there's the start of your problem.
I had the same type of problem
replaced the fuel pump,fuel filter,injector harness&injector seals
Runs better but still not happy it's fixed only stopped on me once since the repairs 6 weeks ago and it was when I was coasting down hill on the duel carriageway stopped for ten mins and then fired up and hasn't happened again
TD5's are so much fun
