sure he will get used to it, gotta have a thick skin to survive the first month, especially with a gaylander!
guess it can be a bit of a shock if you are used to other forums, i woulda been banned for half my posts on the other 2 forums im on coz other forums tend to be exceptionally nazi like

In addition to this forum, I frequent a VW golf forum, A Motorbike forum and a bodybuilding forum. Nothing makes your skin thicker then a forum with over 10,000 regular members full of testosterone and mild roid rage
Just as long as somebody promises to help me pull out my hippo from the mud when i get it stuck i dont mind what people say

yea forgot to mention thats what you will always get - you wont be left there. first man as fast as hte last man bollocks, noone is left behind. you get stuck you will get totally ****nig slated, photos will be taken and plastered all over the forum (you seen the sticky where ratty went into a ditch?) but we will get you out. actually you seen the help fred where a mr nelly the elephant went into a ditch in a disco not owned by himself.got much slated for that, and took 4 of us about 4 hours to get him out from 9 - 1am, and an hour odd drive to get there

lol i will have to do my best to not get stuck then! good to know though, i suppose it could be worse, a freelander could have to pull out a 'real' landrover, If that happens does the world explode or does a tear appear in the time-space continuum?

I don't exactly frequent the Mkiv forum but I've used it for good advice on the EGR and injector loom on my 150Tdi.
Your Hippo will surprise you once you get yourself some new rubber and probably quite a few peeps on her anorl

Notice the word when, anyone that tells you they havent ever been stuck when offroading (not greenlaning) is either telling porkys or has never really done anything too spectacular and i usually end having a bad impression of them from the start of a conversation.
A few months back myself and Gibbophil did some local fords now it was quite sevear a bit above my vent panels on my 90 and we went through them and drove back through again. Then another disco driver turned up saying he had done deeper over the roof la la la. When we said ok mate after you he then backed off and was like yea its ok is not that bad its only a few feet deep la la and him and his mate ended up turning around. My impression: if your gonna big yourself up and make out your oh so great thats fine but you better have the balls to show us.
From my experience growing up offroading greenlaning and competing many will say they have done all sorts, most won't have done much more than a few steep bits and some muddy stuff at all. I recall a guy giving it all ive done that im my disco at a pay and play every 5 mins, to the point of annoying everyone while watching a trial comp I was competing in. He was kindly given a passenger seat and taken around by the clerk of the course, all i remember hearing was girly screams as he bounced off trees, side slopes and cliffs as he was taken around the site in the hybrid.
Never have i heared so many competitors wet themselves with laughter.
