:(went out tonight to have a go at a bit of offroading and ive bust me car:( was doing realy well, went into reverse, and i couldnt get out of reverse, had to call breakdown felt realy stupid and very sad, was so p****d off i cant remember what the bloke told me had bust, it was a ? plate on me geerbox. does anyone know what this is and where do i get it from. its a discovery 200 tdi

can yer get it out of reverse if yer injun int going. ad be wary of anything an AA or RAC bloke told yer as generally they int gort a clue, past tails of woe and heartache caused by breakdown service blokes can be told if yer like.

but if he is right then it probelly yer clutch plate he meant and that int no 5min job. course it could be a few things and probelly the simplest one to fix would be the slave cylinder dieing followed by the master cylinder any thing else is a job fer the big boys and not gurls
 
cant take it out of reverse, clutch plate rings a bell, he did have a look, and gave me a chunk of mettle which he said had broke off this whatever it was, he took it out and i can now use me gears again, i can remember him saying i can drive it but because he took the part out it will loose gearbox oil. does this sound like a clutch plate? and can a girli mend it?

yes when the "chunk of mettal" was taken out i can now change gear, it was only bout half inch long x inch wide.x
 
havnt found the bust bit, but ive found the bit it came off, tried posting a pic but it says its too big, is there another way to show you?
