As WLM says it could well be knackered UJ's......is there ANY play OTHER than rotational?

Sorted the vibration rear prop shaft flange nuts were loose didnt pick it up till today wen checked with handbrake off. just the rotational play in drive now

Hi i'm not far away but no mechanic so wouldn't be much help in these matters!

Is the remaining rotation likely just slack from worn transmission components?

Rotational play is normal, there's a lot of components each with a little free pay and it adds up...... so long as there's no nasty clunks and the vibration has gone you're sorted :)

Still have a nasty clunk when taking up drive and changing gear, dont fancy something breaking while im out and about.

Could be wear anywhere from end of crank to drive flange and anything in between....probably a little wear everywhere inbetween.

One thing worth checking is that the handbrake isn't binding. If it is the resistance takes up the slack in the drive when you take off the power and you get a substantial clunk when applying power again
