My exhuast is blowing badly at the mo and look to replace it so here are my questions

1, Is it poss to fit an exhuast without ramps or a pit on a def 90 200tdi?

2, If i am lazy and cant fit it in my garden in dudley and i take it to my friendly independant landy garage how much will i be charged?? 3 or more hours labour?

3, cat or de-cat?? does it make the differance or will i fail an mot with it?

4, and finaly does £106.89 for a full mild steel system deliver'd to my house seem a fair price??

1) Yes. If you need more room then park with 2 wheels on a kerb or on some breeze blocks or similar

2) An hour to 2 hours.

3) Does a 200tdi have a cat?:confused:

4) yes the price is reasonable
 
maybe no to the cat then..

But a fairly easy job then??? just thumbing through the new land rover international and it has a feature on it but its a disco.......

It's the front bolts that will determine how long it takes. Are you planning on a new manifold too? If so then that is where the time will be spent.

Make sure you order and then fit all new exhaust rubbers too. You can just cut the old ones off then. It makes things much quicker.;)
 
not a new manifold just every thing down from that

(sits biting his fingernails, thinking local landy garage will do it)

hmmmm what to do fit n order it my self n save some cash and get my landt mechanic cofindence up or bee lazy n get garage to do it.....

No probs.:)

If you make sure that you have all new nuts and bolts too, when it comes to removing the old exhaust system TIGHTEN the bolts instead of trying to loosen them. They will then shear off. Tis a much quicker way to get em off.;)

Assemble the complete replacement exhaust system on the vehicle but leaving all the bolts loose. This will help with aligning it all. Before fitting the new exhaust rubbers push a pair of pliers through the holes as far as you can and then twist them back and forth. this will help open the holes up a touch. Fit the rubbers to the vehicle first. The vehicle mounts will be rusty so harder to get the rubbers over. The new exhaust being all bling and shiny will have smoother surfaces so should be easier.
 
hi ok the exhuast is here and my landy is up on brick's waiting for the old one to be removed, i have all the mounting rubbers but what else do i need??

Exhuast compound?
or new gasket set?
I know i need to get some new clamps for the turbo end and some 17mil nuts.

ok got everything i need and most of it is off BUT i cant get old front down pipe off???
the clamp to the turbo end is off but just cant manover it out.....
Help!!!
