An hour, two at most if you're a total mong. It's a piece of ****
No, just keep the screws identiified where they came from - there's quite a variety of sizes/lengths, esp round the instrument cluster/heater controls..... and there's one hidden under the LR oval on the passenger grab handle istr...... A
Thanks will bear that in mind its going to be a bit daunting as wiring scares me
and then its how much welding will there be behind there![]()
What part/area you fixing
Don't find it daunting lol its simple. Once you disconnect the instrument binnacle which is literally just three clips that's the wiring pretty much over with. The rest is screws and bolts
lol ok then when you have removed the wing, dash wireing loom various ,bits on the footwell and then you get the door hinge off you can cut the rusty a pillar out ,dig out all the filler, remove the windscreen frame so you can replace the seal then replace the side of the baulk head thats foobar...ok thanks that's a relief thought there might be allot more than that.
is there anything else i should do whilst the dash is out?
Thinking of spraying the area with a coat of stone-chip is that a good idea?and fitting insulation/sound proofing?![]()
Try and make the bottom part air tight as that's where your heater flows into, I was going to fully duct mine next time I've got it out. No point in using stone chip on the inside, just make sure its rust free and give it a coat of red oxide. You might find it a bit tight for soundproofing under where the dash sits but you could always cover that area in flashing tape, this helps a bit.
Thanks for your help im doing it this weekend will let you all know how i get on cheers![]()
