Hi everyone. I just found this site and thought it was well worth joining. I've driven a Discovery tdi for the last 8 years and just upgraded to a newer model which is V8 but converted to LPG.

I have what appears to be a really daft question, but one I haven't yet found a satisfactory answer to. What is the difference between a 4x4 and an SUV? Are they the same thing, or is one a UK term and the other US?

Uk = 4x4
Merkins =SUV (only cos they can't spell 4x4)

You can carry a lot of people safely in a SUV & have the same towing capabilities as a pickup. Us term i recon, all pickups over there .

is that recon as in armed forces jargon for reconnoitre, or recon , short fer reconditioned or recon as in badly spelt reckon?
