Good Morning Ladies and Gents,

We are a Light Cavalry/ Recognisance Unit based in Croydon, South London. Our mode of transport is the Land Rover WMIK (Weopons Mounted Installation Kit), which is effectively a trimmed down 110. Producing a mighty 111bhp and weighing in at 1.6tonnes! Modifications include, amongst many, a roll cage, roof removal, recaro seats with 4 point harness, various armour plating....... Ow yes.... With the 3 man crews we can also add 1 General Purpose Machine Gun firing a 7.62mm round at about 2400fps, for the Commander, and the top cover gunner can chose between a .50cal Browning M2 Heavy machine Gun, a Hecklar and Koch 40mm Grenade Machine gun and a Milan anti tank missile...!

All this aside, we're looking forward to potentially joining you at events, off road days and the annual London to Brighton to push our vehicles and crews, and of course have some fun in the process, so look out for us!

C Sqdn, The Royal Yeomanry.

:welcome: I know a lot of landies are getting nicked but that level of protection is simply rediculus :D

We're really keen to get the WMIKs out on a laning day or meet. Be great to get out with you all and show you what a WMIK and its crew can do ;)

Are there any events/ meets scheduled? And how's the turnout for the London to Brighton?

That's the good thing about a WMIK/ crew, we already have everything on board or bolted to the side to get us out! But thanks I'll check that out now.

Welcome guys :)

How much for the Milan...I cant seem to find one in the classified ads?

Thanks for your query Lorri. And the answer is actually there very cheap to acquire. All's you need to do is a bit of running, pop down to Pirbright for a few weeks, have a paid - for driving instruction course and the army gives you one for free! Reasonable?!

Ow don't fear! There still firmly in service. Who were you with if you don't mind me asking?

Back in '97 I was at 33 Engr Regt EOD in one of the Field Squadrons.

We were the first Regiment in the Royal Engineers (maybe the whole Army I think) to get the Wolfs.
