Hello all Living in Norwich but originally from Ilkley in West Yorkshire.Just got my hands on a 1998 V8 discovery. It's done 62K and has loads of toys and nice heated leather.I'm new to Landies so I'll be on here quite a bit for help.It's had a fair bit of welding and has two sunroofs which are both leaking but otherwise looks ok.I love fiddling with cars so I'm looking forward to messing around on my latest project.George

Thank god I'm not alone! I can't understand what they're on about.

Looking forward to doing some lanes and 'hills' .

Had a quick look round the tinterweb and it looks like I need to learn how to weld,,, FAST

Lecktrick stuff is my bread and butter so I'm not bothered about that side of Landrover ownership but the welding scares me a bit

Picking it up tonight so I'll put some pics up ASAP

sometimes yu can swap lecktrickery stuff for weldin stuff with peeps local to yu on ere :welcome2:

I know what you mean about welding, I still haven't learnt yet but luckily there's a good mechanic here that doesn't charge too much.

Oh........ and let me know if you find any hills I ain't seen one for years

Good idea about swapping skills. . Good to know

As for hills... Went back to Ilkley on Boxing day and got a nose bleed going up the Cow and Calf. Getting soft living down here for the last 6 years!

Bringing it in to work tomorrow to have a really good tinker with it.

Few jobs to smash

- Heater fan switch intermittant
- Leaking sun roofs
- boot door not working on central locking
- Tidy up wires in the engine bay - -Think it's been converted from viscos fan to twin lecky ones
- Change rusty fogs/spots for new

I think that should do for tomorrow
