Hello all! I have two Land Rovers.
First, I bought a Santana 88" in 1995. It was to be a summer car to be used in town, with the minimum expenditure to get it going. I bought it because I liked the idea to have the roof off in the mild weather of the Costa Brava, and for "soft" off-roading. I was to get rid of it at the first costly repair. 20 years later, it is still with me. First, a low-mileage 2'5 diesel replaced an aging 2'25 diesel. After, it was swapped for a 200TDI, with a 5-speed box and permanent 4x4. Now, it's a 3.5 V8 with an Edelbrock carburettor, Defender axles with discs all round, and coil springs. Aesthetically, it is still an original Series II but for the wheel arches.
In 2007 came a Disco 300TDI, which I bought just for my wife to have her first car when she obtained her driving license. A "temporary thing". Yep! It's still with me. And it's a 3.9. With Mangels rims. And wheel arches. And 235/85R16 tyres. And a Waeco MagicSpeed cruise control...
Can't help it.
Sorry, no pic of the 88 right now.
