Today I purchased my very first landrover, got a freelander on a 05 plate at 66k. First time I have driven one since leaving the forces. Really pleased with it, however was a bit gutted getting rid of my 350 z. But hobbies and family made the decision easy. Apologise in advance if I ask any dumbass questions
All the best
Steve :)

Thanks, bit concerned with the common faults tbh, all sound very expensive. But saw it and loved it straight away. Wasn't till later I found out it was the K series engine. Heart overtook brain and didn't do the research. Had this problem with my 52 plate MG ZR about 8 years ago and it went pear shaped. Fingers crossed that the same doesn't happen. Did they improve or are they just as temperamental ?

Being an 05 yours will have the upgraded cooling system (PRT thermostat) and I think they upgraded to MLS head gaskets too.

Mines a 1.8 k but a lot older than yours ...Ive done some mods to make it like yours and have had no probs in two and a bit years of my ownership....keep a very regular eye on the coolant and oil and I mean every other day or so...never let it run out of coolant or HG failure will happen. just look after it and it should be a good un ;)

Thanks mate, really appreciate the advice. Luckily I have coolant at work :) paid 3000 but only had 66k on the clock and the interior and body work is immaculate for the year. I know I have prob paid a bit over the odds but it liked it. And don't regret getting rid of the Nissan, at least I don't have to stop at EVERY petrol station I drive near :)
