Evening all from Yorkshire. I have a 95 defender 110 300tdi with sudden power loss

On a couple of occasions I've suffered serious power loss when over taking or pushing up a hill; it's feels like I've thrown a parachute out the back. I drop down a gear and all's better. I've checked all the fuel pipes for leaks and condition and all appears fine, lift pump and filter was changed 6mths ago. Any thoughts before I start to over thinking it and spend cash.

Thanks in advance.

Hello welcome to the forum possibly a lack of air or lack of fuel check these things first give some more information mileage year body style somebody will know more I’m a td5 man

Welcome to the forum.
Could be your turbo carped or turbo pipework leaking.
How many miles on the clock? When was the air filter last changed?

Thanks for your reply. All turbo pipework check and all appears ok. It's done 17.2k and I've had it since 80k. Just changed air and fuel filter again. Just started it this morning and she wouldn't fire up but feathered the accelerator and she started straight away. I don't believe in coincidences, could it be to do with the top of injector pump (never looked inside) where the throttle cable attaches?
