Can anyone offer advice or info on freeing the cables used to control the heater in my 90 TD5. The cables I mean are on the RHS of the consol and the left hand one controls the temp (that’s moving pretty freely) but the right hand one of the pair is very stiff. I have used WD40 and then oil for the last week on the fixings on the heater fan box and the cable mounting on the LHS of that box up against the bulkhead and taken the cables out of the cab and tried to run some oil into the covering but it’s still very stiff especially when trying to move the air flow from the half way position (1/2 screen and foot well) to totally footwall... if feels like it s going to snap – any ideas or advice gratefully received.

Are you sure its the cables?
Mine was stiff and it was the little detent thingys on the actual levers that needed some grease.

Ive had the same problem .What shifty said was near enough what was wrong. Take the pannel off thats around the leavers so you can see what does what . I needed a pliers to fix mine maybe a drop of oil will be all you need

Thanks both, I'll take the side panel off again and have a poke around to see if its fouling on somthing.
