Hi I have a 200 tdi K reg discovery, and one of the heater matix pipes going threw the bulkhead has snapped and leaked coolant out everywhere.

I have a new matrix on order, however I have been searching all night on here to find information on replacing it, but not haveing much luck. I'm also a newbie to land rover ownership so any help advice much appreciated.

Is it a complete dashboard out job, or just centre console and slide it out to the side? (or is that just for 300tdis?)

I know its gonna be time consuming but how do I go about removing the centre console and or dash?

I want to do the job right but it has also just started snowing here, so the less amount of time spent on it ther better.

One final question if I am taking out lots of dash center console etc, is there any other little jobs I should do whilst its out to stop me having to take it out again when something else breaks?

Thank you

complete dash out & if you got aircon it's and even bigger twaat of a job.

Steering wheel.
instrument binnacle.
clock fag lighter
centre console
heater control panel
Glove box
Fuse box cover
then start on the dash itself.

haynes manual, RAVE etc

diconnect battery, disconnect speedo/gauge pod, disconnect passenger grab handle, disconnect centre console, disconnect dashboard securing screws, remove dashboard, remove heater matrix/fan housing, split heater matrix/fan housing and replace heater matrix. 'replacement is a reversal of removal'

same as above i changed the complete heater unit in my 200 a few weeks back, took me about 3 hrs to complete, once the clocks and centre console is out its quite straight forward, but make sure when you remove the 4 screws for the sissy bar on the dash that your careful with the integrated threads on the bottom as there a t*at for snapping then you cant secure it back on again, oh and its a good idea to remove the handbrake lever as i tried twisting the centre console round and snapped it!!
