Morninf folks,

Just after a slight bit of advice. Firstly, I am fully aware how **** a defender heater is/can be, and im not expecting miracles.

When I pull the level down for the heater control, the fan comes on, great. You can hear it whirring away cracking on with its job, and all is good. The problem is though, that no hot air is coming out of the vents in the dash.

I have just done an engine swap, and looking at the ways things fit, the heater unit is above the coolant reservoir, so when I filled up the engine via the coolant reservoir, is it possible that the fluid didnt get as far as the heater unit and as such, isnt having any heated fluid passing through?

How would you go about filling this unit up (if that is even a possibility)

Thanks
Tom

Clamp one hose, remove it, fill using pipe/funnel until fluid overflows and replace.

Alternatively, is the heater matrix higher than the bleed screw by the thermostat

Obvious I know, but have you checked the heater wire is actually fixed on top of the heater unit and isn't pulling through when you adjust the temp in the cab?
