Did you test continuity of the thermostat.?

how would i do that? put a meter over it? I tesed from each side of the stat to earth and it showed 12v on both sides. I assumed that was ok

I found some equiverlant ones from rs components, but I wasn't sure if I needed nc or no type, the other reason I didn't upgrade was I think it will put more pressure on the battery which already takes a pounding as it is. The factory setting seems fine to me anyway.

Sorry Canyon did you manage to source new stats in the end ?

You should have continuity across the thermostat, otherwise it could be a be faulty/stuck hence no heat.

I have put it all back together now but might rip it out at the weekend again only took 2 hrs out and in again so not major will take stat out altogether and see if it heats then at least it will eliminate one component did you hear if Gav changed the elements?

Did you test the seats by sitting on them for 5+ minutes? When i did mine I noticed that the seats themselves don't get warm, only when you are sitting on them do you notice.

I put pressure on but will do as you say cant do so till I get a new fuse board which is burnt ah well once its done will let you know

Sandyt. If you do take out the thermostat altogether from the system, then make sure to check the seat for heat within a minute or so as it will get well hot quickly if my seat back is anything to go by !
After a couple minutes it started to smell and was well hot to the touch

If you type multimeter continuity into the image section of google, you will see what to set it too to check the thermostat.

Also the thermostat needed should be nc (normally closed) i believe,i have both types on order at moment. Under 8 quid for both types.
