I am getting my front screen replaced on Friday and have asked for a heated screen (currently not heated) how difficult is it to get the screen working. Is it just a case of fitting a switch.

If non genuine part the screen plugs may, or not be different, have u checked that there is wiring and connectors below each corner of the screen, if so and the BCU needs to be told there's a heated screen is now fitted for the screen to work and you will require a switch. :)

Thanks, there are plugs in the scuttle. Will get a switch and see what happens.
Can BCU be updated with Hawkeye.

I believe it can , or it may be something similar according to the other threads on this subject, as I've no need to do it the exact info just passes straight over the top :D

Switch (part no YUG102550), relay (part no YWB101300), Hawkeye/nanocom to enable function on the BCU- that's what you'll need. I've looked in to doing this myself if the two chips I have in my current non-heated windscreen turn out not to be repairable.

yes, if his car has no aircon i doubt that it will work on aircon defrost mode... i should have said that from the beginning to avoid any confusion:rolleyes:
