Both headlights stopped working last night, but the instrument panel is telling me the main beam is on.

Does this mean the column switch has packed up?

Don't jump to conclusions before you have investigated the problem.

Have you checked to see if there is power to the headlamp bulbs? Have you tried new bulbs? How about the fuse?

Hi lookskyward1,

Thanks for the advice, I haven't checked anything as yet.
What is puzzling is the high beam warning light stays on even when dipped beam is selected, but still no lights!

checked the bonnet switch, sounds simple but is linked to alarm and imobilser, could be the route, did the same 4 me

Just been out in the car and the headlights work, must be gremlins!!

i had this problem where my main beem is constanly on even when the switch is off and the car doesnt even have the keys in the ignition???
