hi all
i have a dicovery 300 tdi and my head unit is not working and the clock looses it time evertime i turn the engine off.

the cd player is not working which i have tested in another car and it works fine i have tested me main 12v supplie and that fine and the earth works i have been puzzled for weeks about this any help with the clock orr the head unit would be great.

you need a consant live feed, take the head unit out and you should have a yellow and red wire

red should lose feed when key is taken out, and the yellow should stay live

it is the constant live that i have checked by putting my cb on to it

Sounds like a fuse has gone.
Can't remember what car it was I had at the time, but a 10A fuse had blown on the main board and it wiped out the head unit & clock - in this case it sounds like the back-up power to the clock.

For a 300 series the fuse no.6 is the common one for clock and headunit.

i have just check that one and that was the problem but in my car that fuse was marked as the trailer lights which all worked thanks for all the advise
