I have a n reg disci TDI. Yesterday the hazzard light switched themselves on and would not go off. I have taken the fuse out but can still hear the relay ticking in the drivers footwell. I have identified the green box buy pulling out the wires. In the picture it is the green box with the yellow dot. I can not remove it at the moment but there is room to put a replacement.

Can some one indentify what it is for me please and where i can get a new one.

Part of the alarm system there's a crash inertia switch inside the unit and if u hit a bump hard the hazards flash and if the doors are locked they will unlock, reset is by tuning the ignition/starter switch on and off.

Sounds like the same problem i had, its the alarm. Have all the doors unlocked and C/Locking system stopped working too??

If so, put key in ignition, turn on then off, mine was ok after that, but it did take me three hours to find out.

Beat me to it :)

i have tried the on off bit and it has worked the hazards no longer permanently on, but when i switch the central locking on they switch on.

Any ideas

You do get an indication on locking/unlocking from flashing indicators, one on unlocking, three on locking. Any more than that then we have a problem.
