i got one, its' neat,lots of color pictures and big lettering.
Did me checker plate with it, which is pretty good for me, i was a complete lazyarse with cars before i got the disco, and if it was able to get me to concentrate on it and start and finish a job, then it can't be bad. IMO.

really compliments everything that i pick up on here,
got the Haynes diesel engine manual too which is another enjoyable eyeopener,
Finally have come to understand how it works after all these years( now i see the point of snorkels(me and me dad thought they were yank truck style exhausts for driving underwater!!:crazy: ))

Yes, i really get on with it, puts it across simple and clear,
in the same way as the mod manual.

i've got it, i got it as a package with my haynes workshop manual, ive found it a good read,if your already well in the know about modding discos then this wont really teach you anything new, it covers subjects such as engine mods -electric fan, snorkel, exhaust etc. Underside- rock sliders, diff guards, air locker differential etc. suspension - multi shocks, dislocation cones, air cylinder installation etc. bodywork - wheels, bumpers, winch, roll cage, wheel arch extension kit, chequerplate, window tinting etc. Electrical system -230v inverter with3 pin socket, split charge system, lights, cb radio etc etc etc. ive only mentioned a handful of the mods but you get the idea. its not the thickest of books (184 pages) but lots of pics and good ideas, theres even a bit on modding and the law. If nothing else it makes a good read, ive just abandoned this thread for the last 45 mins to skip through it - i now undertand what bush wires are and why you use them!!! hope this helps.

if you have never picked up a spanner then the haynes books are not for you, if you can understand sentences such as "withdraw the split-pin then unscrew the nut securing the drag link to the steering box drop arm " you'll be alright with a haynes. many a time my old man has come to my rescue and deciphered the book. (ex rolls mechanic). All the tasks have a spanner rating (1-5) 1 being novice 5 being expert and so judging on your own ability you will be able to figure out what jobs you can do and which ones to leave people better suited to the job. I rate myself as a 3 spanner man! no real mechanical experience, just played with cars for the last 13 years. But lets just say thank god for the old man!
