Hi
In my long saga of engine trouble my problem is shott bottom end bearings. The engine is still in and I hope to keep it there to replace the bottom shells and the oil pump just in case it is on way out. I have tried several times to download and run the rave software but with no luck. So i'm looking for a blow by blow account and if its possible to change them with the engine in the car?

Thanks

look on youtube for a vid on the replacement of the shells from rpi, why cant you run rave? what computer you got, is it windows, pm your address n i'll pop a disc in the post!

you should be able to slide the shims in but how will you know the crank is not bent etc etc?

Hi Gav that would be brilliant will pm you.

Having to take a bit of a risk with crank being straight as it only happened 20 yards from house so no damage should have happened fingers crossed, Mainly can't and don't have money to spend just now after our so called trusty VW Golf (that she drives) had a traction control and ABS failure costing almost 2k from stealers (just 4 months out of warranty!). Otherwise my mate who works in local engineering shop would be rebuilding my block for me. Will have a look on you tube for that vid

Thanks Gav

posted it today, you should get it by the morning!

didnt write on disc but its rave cd disc 2 just in case you needed the info!

You can replace all the shells from underneath but the front & rear mains are a bit more involved as there is more stripping to do than the sump removal.
