The black wheel arch extensions you see on some models, plus the side rubber mouldings that run the length of the car? If so how hard to fit, and what price for the kits please? Any downsides to putting these on my car?

I fitted a set to my old 200, mainly to cover the blistering paint around the arches.I used stickabond i think that was what it was called it was about £10 a tube and i used 2. i bought it from my local body shop,great stuff, they stayed on till i sold it.

The side mouldings have adhesive tape on the back so you just peel the backing off and stick on, be careful as you only get one chance to get them straight.

When fitting side molding strips, use a bit of string taped at each wheel arch or bumper as a straight line guide. Step back from the vehicle and make sure the string is straight. Even if you are following a body contour, its a good idea to still use the string.

Depending on the type of adhesive used on the strips, you can coat the side of the car and the sticky adhesive with soapy water. this will allow you to have some slip until you squeeze the water/soap out from behind when it is in perfect position.

And it's probably best to do each side in one complete straight piece from front to back and then cut it carefully at the door edges. This ensures a dead straight line of strip instead of four separate ones that might not be perfectly aligned.
