Has anyone here installed a Handiwash in their Defender? I'm sure it has been done but search didn't turn up anything.

I've got a brand new one that has been sitting in storage for a few years now. I am going to put in our 110 Hardtop. I'm sure I can figure something out but it would help to see other installs.

Seen loads on trucks, some pretty poor installs, but they still worked.
Only appeared to be two wire jobs direct to battery, so I haver to assume they had some form of voltage sensing to stop the battery going flat and to only heat when voltage high enough?

The recommended wiring is an illuminated switch fed from an ignition-on source. The switch energises a relay and that powers the Handiwash. The installation manual included with mine has a part number for a generic installation kit with a Bosch relay, a switch and a wire loom.

One option for engine-off hot water would be putting in a dual-battery set up.
