The front pro will rotate with the hand brake on. If either of the gearboxes are in neutral, rotating the front prop shaft will turn through the diff to the engine, or up to the bit that is in neutral.
If you don't believe me, jack up the front of the car with the hand brake on not in gear, get both wheels clear of the floor it won't move anywhere.
Jack up the back wheels together itll roll off.
Some movement in the font prob will be apparent - it is just slack in the gearboxes and diff etc. A lot of slack needs adjusting, and that is where diff/gearbox rebuilds are usually required.
