Hi,
Hope someone can help. Disconnected the handbrake cable as part of doing the clutch and now I can't get it back on!
The cable reconnects fine but the ratchet doesn't work, the button is inoperable, it just doesn't catch and stick like it should, just falls back down. I'm wondering if the is a spring or something that has come off as I removed it?

Can't see from the pics, but the ratchet pawl often flips over so it won't catch and jams the button lever .. pull the pawl up with a small screwdriver or something thin enough to get in.

When you get it out it's pretty obvious what happens ..

Thanks- got the pawl in this position:

but it never seems to activate the button- there is no springiness with the button at all and still doesn't hold the handbrake on.

rod gets bent slightly malinking it not slide try pull and pushing it with screw driver or hook etc whilst trying button
