They are a damn sight brighter - but to be honest, I've not had the opportunity to drive the Rangie much since I fitted them - and definately not at night yet... Been too busy....

if you all look at the wiring diagram that i posted at the 1st page of this thread its easy to do and clears the blown light warnings had the hids now for quite some time and would recomend them they light up the road nicely as for the price they all seam to vary just look on fleabay there are plenty of kits available
Yep Wangie, I agree with you, I was checking them online last night and they seem to start from £50 including postage. I even saw some for £100, but then I guess its all about quality and price. Have you have the MOT done with them on.
Can you please check the following for me and tell me your view on the product. This is the same shop that i caughtup with the lad and he seems to be trustworthy and same with the product, this is one of the only products that i saw which explains everything in detail and seems nice to me..

Brill info on here GOONARMY managed to find this for me as i'm having trouble with my new HIDs, I've also got side light warnings coming up after I fitted LED side lights does anyone know how to get past that aswell??

Nooby here... Well not so new to RR's, just new here...
I have just purchased a set of Fleabay HID's. Now call me an idiot but the P38 RR has a set of H4 bulbs for low beam and a set of H4 bulbs for high beam. I have purchased a set of low beam only HID's to replace my standard H4 bulbs for low beam driving (after all I cant remember the last time I drove round for more than 5 mins on high beam).
Now its probably best if I posted this after fitting but would I be right in thinking that if I change the low beam set only, I will at best only ever get a low beam bulb failure message no matter if I flash someone or switch between high or low beam given that the high beam bulb is still a standard H4 bulb?
I plan on working out a wiring diagram utilising safe resistor usage if I do get a low beam LH/RH error message and will let you know how I get on...

Sirius your a dinosaur!!! I can remember having to light the acetylene headlamps on my 1902 Mk -0001 series before the bloke with the red flag was prepared to walk in front!

Maybe some of the posters could have been dead for three years. Crashed after being blinded by HID lamps more than likely.

Don't see why HIDs should be too much of a problem in a P38 with its self-levelling suspension - as long as the beam heights are set correctly. I fitted a HID kit to mine last month - no probs - so far...
Not for you maybe, but certainly for the poor buggers driving in the opposite direction.

The problem is HID lamps in halogen headlamp housings
It's not just the self levelling that you need, you also require projector lenses as without the right lens makes the HID light scatter everywhere instead of straight ahead. And that's the bit that blinds other drivers.
I just stick my full beam Xenons in there face if theirs are in mine
