Put my Range in to LR today for a update on the differential or something as its a 52 plate an they changed something at 05

went to pick it up and they have a problem, worn the part down or something trying to put it on, so need a new one!!!

Weekend without it, worsted of all im away next week so wont get it till the end of the week :(

well chuffed... honest

what part was it to wear out before its fitted??? is it made of tissue and how long will it last once fitted???

scary!!!!

if it didnt have to be done i wouldnt get it done... would i?

its free from land rover so i may as well get it done

Translated into english....

FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE FITTING. WHY THEY ARE FITTING IT AND HOW THEY WORE IT OUT. DO YOU WANT TO GET STUCK WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTEE BECAUSE THEY SEMI-KILLED THE SAME PART WHEN FITTING IT THIS TIME.

Landrover parts can normally be handled fairly roughly. If a main stealer can feck it up that easily when trying to fit it then so can you or another garage.

wow i just about seen that text there... ha

its a new diff

i was informed that post 05 plate range rovers get a free update to the new diff fitted to 06+ so i took mine in to see if it needed this update and yes it did.

they phoned me saying mine was badly worn much worse than they normally encounter but, they will replace it free anyway however, it will take much longer than the normal 3hrs! (few days to be precise!)

this made me think that they might have messed up themselves because i dont know any dealership that would do something for free when they could have easily charged...?

Landrover pay them to carry out any warantee work so the dealer will still get their money.

It sounds like they screwed up to me too. It could simply be that it's chewed the shafts up but it doesn't ring right with me. I would make sure that you find out what they did and why it took so long in case of any future problems.

yeh mate i think they are going to list all the work they carried out and warranty it

will definitely be making sure i know what has been done before i leave, with something in writing too

cheers for the reply tho
