Bugger. Late at night, dark county road, complete loss of main lights.

Side lights and flash still ok.

Me thinks the main headlight switch has retired from active service. So, another on the way from RimmerBros. This weekend will check the fuses and relays, but I has me a gut feeling:)

Happened to us in the middle of dartmoor. Luckily there was 5 mountain bikers in the 110 all hanging out the windows armed with lights :D

Check the contacts on the switch and you will find one of em has sunken into the plastic where it melted

Happened to me too. But I was in the middle of nowhere, and had to drive home. I bodged by cutting the connector off the switch with about an inch of wire for each contact, and twisted & taped them all together. I drove it like that for about 2 weeks until I could get a replacement switch.

Just to add to this. Happened to me last year and found fuse had blown. Replaced fuse and blew again. Thought we'd sorted it and then happened again. Turned out there was a fracture in the wiring loom going to nearside headlight so we ran a new length of wire from loom at bulkhead to headlamp otherwise we'd have had to take the wing off!
