What if you own a Landy AND a Jeep...?
I had Grabber ATs on a previous motor and great in the snow and never had problems in the lanes, though no serious mud plugging tried, so can't comment on that. Great on road too.

Which ones are you looking at? The AT or AT2?
Confusingly AT2 is the older tread pattern. I've got them on my Discovery 2 and very happy with them. The compound is a lot softer than the BFGs which means they have good on road grip but you wont get the same mileage out of them.
They have generous siping and are holed to take snow studs so carry the North American triple peak snow stamp which I believe the BFGs don't. Not all sizes carry the stamp though, check HERE.
I've only been down green lanes so far but I haven't had a problem with them in mud, and it was pretty soft last week. I'll wait and see what they are like next time I go to a Pay&Play.
The Grabber AT is the newer tyre brought out to comply with EU noise limits and is less aggressive still. I don't have any personal experience with them, sorry.

Got them on the wife's freelander 2. Excellent on the road especially in the wet, and snow. Good in light mud and on grass.
They are poor in heavy mud , but that's not what they were designed for.
Had them on for about 10,000 miles and should last another 20,000 or so easily.

Just for what it is worth. I have had Grabber AT's and AT2's on my trucks over time.
Grabber AT's are fine (LR often supply them on Defenders as stock) but not something I would choose if I was buying again. Maybe it is just me but they had a lot of lateral movement in the wet, not something I like, and did not play that well in the snow, much better than road tread but not as good as I would like.
The Grabber AT2's (snowflake's) just seem to handle everything with grace other than the really muddy stuff (not what they are for) and are well mannered on the road in just about every condition. Slightly softer compound but seem to last well. These would be my 'default' if I was after more rubber for my Defender. Noise levels are not bad either.
