Just a quick question, has any one used P015 paint? It has been reccomended to me by a guy i know who does Bike restorations. I was intending using hammerite but i wondered if any one had any preference. it has to be hand painted as i don't have access to any spraying equipment and i don't have a temprature controlled enviroment to do the painting in.
cheers in advance.

Flippin superb stuff, purchased mine from Crown Restoration in small tins. It sets like enamel and makes hammerite look like nail varnish.

I painted the chassis of my old jeep with it which is why I used small tins, cos I didn't know how much to use. Just be sure to wear gloves as I had to wait a week for it to wear off my skin.

Bit fiddly to clean the chassis with marine clean stuff but goes on really well.

Good luck

POR15 seems to have a very good reputation, especially for old metal rather than new metal. I don't know a great deal about it, but it will certainly be better than (unless you have a can of hammerite that is at least 15 years old)

Have a look at this website and do a search on there MIG Welding Forum there are quite a lot of discussions about POR15

Nice one thanks guys. i did a search on the forum but now i realise i typed in p015 instead of por15.. DOOOH

We have used por15 on both the mk1 Escorts Dad owns. It really sticks and sets hard. I forgot to weld a handbrake cable mount onto the transmission tunnel, and the paint took a fair bit of grinding to get back to shiny metal to weld to. Frost sell it, but not sure how their prices compare with elsewhere.
