hi guys .
my sereis 3 gearbox (4speed) isnt to greaty . its sat unsed for 6 years then i bought it . and after emptying the oil out of it ( oil was contaminated with water ) found about 5 shards of metal each about the size of chocolate drop. i am not putting it on the road im just using it for offroading so should it be alright.cheers

sirpose it all depend where the bits of metal came from, but yer can be pretty sure if it starting to fall apart its gonna continue to fall apart and as going orf road is probelly harder on yer boxes than being on road its gonna disinteragate quicker than if yerd bin using it soley on road

If it fell apart sat on yr driveway it won't take long for problems when you drive it off road!

no its been driven before then and also it was low on oil .
